Italian Architect Riccardo Panzeri grew up in Verona, Italy, from an Italian father and a South African mother. He obtained a Masters Degree in Architecture from the Architectural Institute of Venice University in1998 studying with top European architects and urban designers such as Aldo Rossi, Bernardo Secchi, Gian Carlo De Carlo, James Gowan, Richard Murphy, Georges Tyssot.
After living in Scotland for a few years and wanting to widen his horizons, he moved to South Africa in 1998 and chose to settle in Stellenbosch, where the mountains, the vineyards and the “village feel” strongly reminded him of his native Veneto. Here in 2005 he opened 27Studio.
Riccardo is registered as Professional Architect with SACAP (South African Council for the Architectural Professional) and completed a Project Management course, cum laude, at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Architecture is a social art applied to the built environment.
Since its inception the practice built its reputation by designing and constructing architectural related sustainable projects across South Africa.
We have worked as principle architects, project leader and energy efficiency consultants in various private construction projects touching most of the the build environment sectors, from agricultural, commercial, hospitality, residential, mixed use and IPP (independent power producer) in the Southern African region.
We believe in a contemporary design that adapts to the unique challenges and opportunities offered by each specific location with its landscape, people, environment and climate.
