In 2020, the entire world witnessed a seismic shift toward remote work, accelerated in large part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This shift has impacted the experience of the full-time worker, further boosting the population of digital nomads. South Africa is also participating in this shift, which is also an opportunity to attract people who could work remotely in our country.

Speaker: Dylan Piatti

Dylan is currently MD for Africa at the Advantage Group International – a multinational organisation spanning 45+ markets working with some of the world’s biggest brands and retailers in B2B Partner engagement. He is focused on growing a Pan-African practice, and is proud of the Advantage SA team winning the firms highest growth in emerging markets for 2021 award.

Dylan is passionate about the intersect of entrepreneurship, good governance and socio-economic development. And has honed his over 18yrs experience through entrepreneurship, SMME, Global Corporate (Deloitte Alum) and Board experiences.

Previously with Deloitte Africa and as Ex Board Chair of the Ecommerce Forum Africa, he led the international strategy solidifying its seat at the Global table. He represented Africa on the Global DTN (Digital Trade Network, sponsored by the ICC), and has presented at Private Sector, UN Agency and Civil Society events in Africa, Europe and the US. He has two major highlights from these experiences: firstly, presenting on stage at the World Investment Forum in Geneva together with Alibaba, EBay and Vortext Holdings. And secondly, collaborated with the AU, UN and EU for the inaugural Africa Ecommerce Summit at the UN compound in Nairobi, where we constituted the African Digital CEO forum with 22Execs from 15 companies spanning 11 countries.

In 2020 Dylan was elected to join the Board of Directors of the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industry where he is currently serving his first 4yr term.

Dylan started his career in entrepreneurship launching the first store of its kind in Africa, working at a Tech SMME, co-founding Mobile Monday SA, launching a skincare brand an Italian international hair & fashion magazine in SA.

Nel 2020 il mondo intero ha assistito a uno cambiamento sismico verso il lavoro a distanza, accelerato in gran parte a causa della pandemia di COVID-19. Questo cambiamento ha avuto un impatto sull’esperienza del lavoratore a tempo pieno, aumentando ulteriormente la popolazione dei nomadi digitali. Anche il Sud Africa sta partecipando a questo cambiamento che è anche un’opportunità per attirare persone che potrebbero lavorare a distanza nel nostro Paese.

Dylan è attualmente MD per l’Africa presso l’Advantage Group International, un’organizzazione multinazionale che copre oltre 45 mercati che lavora con alcuni dei più grandi marchi e rivenditori del mondo nel coinvolgimento dei partner B2B. È concentrato sulla crescita di uno studio panafricano ed è orgoglioso del team Advantage SA che ha vinto il premio dell’azienda con la crescita più alta nei mercati emergenti per il 2021.

Dylan è appassionato dell’intersezione tra imprenditorialità, buona governance e sviluppo socio-economico. E ha affinato la sua esperienza di oltre 18 anni attraverso esperienze imprenditoriali, SMME, Global Corporate (Deloitte Alum) e Board.

In precedenza con Deloitte Africa e come Ex Board Chair dell’Ecommerce Forum Africa, ha guidato la strategia internazionale consolidando il suo posto al tavolo Global. Ha rappresentato l’Africa nel Global DTN (Digital Trade Network, sponsorizzato dall’ICC) e ha presentato eventi del settore privato, dell’Agenzia delle Nazioni Unite e della società civile in Africa, Europa e Stati Uniti. Ha due momenti salienti di queste esperienze: in primo luogo, presentarsi sul palco al World Investment Forum di Ginevra insieme ad Alibaba, eBay e Vortext Holdings. E in secondo luogo, abbiamo collaborato con l’AU, le Nazioni Unite e l’UE per il vertice inaugurale dell’e-commerce in Africa presso il complesso delle Nazioni Unite a Nairobi, dove abbiamo costituito il forum dell’African Digital CEO con 22Exec di 15 aziende in 11 paesi.

Nel 2020 Dylan è stato eletto membro del Consiglio di Amministrazione della Camera di Commercio e Industria Italo-Sudafricana, dove attualmente sta scontando il suo primo mandato di 4 anni.

Dylan ha iniziato la sua carriera nell’imprenditorialità lanciando il primo negozio del suo genere in Africa, lavorando presso un Tech SMME, co-fondando Mobile Monday SA, lanciando un marchio di cura della pelle, una rivista italiana di moda e capelli internazionale in SA.
