Since its inception, the association has focused on supporting and assisting families and individuals who find themselves in financial or health-related hardship. Over the past few years, due to increasingly difficult socio-economic conditions, the number of people that we assist has grown significantly, along with the emergence of new areas of poverty and hardship.
Social Assistance
With an increased number of people needing our assistance, we established a monthly food parcel home delivery to ensure that everyone is catered for, including elderly or sick individuals and those unable to travel.
Financial Assistance
The Association has developed income supporting initiatives in cases where individuals find themselves in financial hardship. This intervention normally requires the beneficiary to meet certain requirements to ensure that the grant payment, which is paid monthly via bank transfer, is justified. We have also successfully implemented projects aimed at reintroducing individuals to the work environment and so provide them with the opportunity to overcome poverty.
Medical Assistance
We support and promote initiatives which aim to protect and foster mental and physical health and wellbeing, while respecting everyone’s diversity and experiences. This includes not only the provision of information and education on healthier lifestyles, Covid-19 prevention, etc. but also support for specialist’s consultations and delivery of medication.
We also offer psychological support with no judgement to our beneficiaries living in challenging situations. We try to assist everyone who comes to us to the best of our abilities. Besides individual support, we aim to build significant social networks which are sustainable and supportive.
Professional counselling is just one part of a wider variety of interventions which bring together social and psychological dimensions with the objective of assisting people to find the best way to meet their needs and overcome the temporary situation they find themselves in.
