Ice Dream Land is very much an Italian family affair, where Marco with his wife Grazia, their daughter Chiara and son-in-law Mattia work alongside with enthusiasm.
Marco first built his reputation by producing the finest hand made Italian Gelato and Mozzarella cheese and continues very Sunday to make the best homemade pasta, strictly using fresh eggs from the farm. Real Italian soul, tireless and playful, his motto is “Believe in your dreams!”
Grazia comes from a Tuscan Italian family of chefs and food lovers. An expert in traditional Italian specialties, her motto is “old is gold!”.
She is the creator of deli products range called “della Mamma” which includes jams, chilly oil, pasta sauces and much more.
Chiara and her heartwarming smile is the soul of Ice Dream Land, she knows any aspect of the production and the distribution. You can be sure to find her always ready to answer your questions and satisfying your needs.
Mattia is the pizza master, gelato and cheese maker, perpetuating Marco’s knowledge with passion and will. “Imported” by his wife Chiara in 2013, he’s fulfilling his dream of self-sufficiency and authenticity, as opposed to mass production and consumerism.
Ice Dream Land opened its doors in Plettenberg Bay in 2014, the
fulfillment of a dream to create a restful place away from the
stressed and frenetic life to enjoy sharing and rediscovering simple
food and flavours as it used to be.
It soon grew into a welcoming and flourishing place with outside tables, a kids’ play area complete with slide and swings, a calming fountain and a concert bird calls, cows, dogs and chickens as a backdrop.
Most ingredients come straight from the farm: from organic tomatoes to homegrown rocket, basil, brinjal and peppers. Eggs are from the farm’s chicken and the milk for the mozzarella and gelato is from the neighbour’s cows.
A warm fragrance hangs in the air, food is made with love and served by the same hands that created it.
